2 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTED!   August 26, 2007

I am a great fan of Nora Roberts more specifically her Eve Dallas books which are excellent, I have read most of her other books too and was disappointed with this book which had the right ingredients to make it great but wasn't and in my opinion it was due to far too much detail in the past, and I think that half this book was not needed instead of focusing so much into the past it could have started with a 'brief' prologue into it (instead of 20 years worth!) then lead in nicely into the main story being about a woman who is haunted by the event of her baby brother being killed in an attempted kidnap when she was a child and not remembering what happened
until it's nearly too late. If you have nothing better to do with your time then this would certainly keep you occupied.

Having read many of Nora roberts books before i had high expectations of this book. However when i started it i did find it hard to get into, although i persevered and found the book very good. It tackles some "delicate" issues with great effect, for example domestic abuse. I thoroughly enjoyed this book by the end, would definately recommend it,and although in my opinion it isnt one of her greatest books it has a great love story, and a thilling plot, (although slightly predictable).

5 out of 5 stars A box of tissues must be handy when reading this book!   September 6, 2001

I loved this book - I couldn't put it down, even though I was weeping buckets through most of it. Ms Roberts manages to convey some powerful emotions with this book - its well written and thoroughly enjoyable, though slightly predictable - if you have read Rivers' End, you'll know why, but don't let that put you off reading the book.

4 out of 5 stars Another fantastic book from Nora Roberts   May 17, 2001

I am collecing unread Nora Roberts books for my forthcoming holiday, however as soon as I buy one I read it. This book is fantastic and again is hard to put down, it doesn't matter how predictable it is and whether you can work out the ending - it is just enjoyable reading! Right, I am ready to buy some more!

5 out of 5 stars Suspense and romance, as always she is the best.   April 1, 2001

I have yet to read a Nora Roberts book that I haven't enjoyed, but Public Secrets ranks among my favourites. Less gory than her later books but equally as full of suspense and believable characters. The sort of read that you simply can't put down.
