3 out of 5 stars I wish I could fly right up to the sky but I can't (you can) I can't   June 18, 2008

I felt I really needed a bit of a pick me up after my wife ran off with her therapist so decided to give this a whizz.
I met some bloke at a works do who could do hypnotism so had him come round and give me the once over in preparation for my mental exercises.
Normally I like to listen to whale noises and the sounds of the ocean to relax but he didn't have this so he chloraformed me instead.
I awoke some 18 hours later, rather bizarely I was completely naked except for a pair of ladies stockings and a suspender belt. I have looked through Paul McKennas' book and can't find any mention of this, I certainly don't recall ever wearing this type of thing before, in fact the hypnotist must have brought them with him as there was none of that sort of thing in the flat. I'll be buggered if I know what that was all about.
I did observe also that 180 and a carriage clock were missing, so it looks as if this chap well and truely shafted me, but he did feed the cat before he left so swings and roundabouts. Besides that's small nuts to me, being a city trader an' all.
I have found this book useful though some of the exercises are a bit old hat, I always enjoyed staring at myself in the mirror proclaiming how great I am anyway. I have gained a lot of confidence listening and reading this pseudo-psychology, I know for a lot of people it would be more productive and longer lasting to form positive relationships with supportive and sentient others but I've always despised the human race and just want a quick fix and right now.
As a result of listening to this tape and now believing I can do anything I have decided to sell up and move to Rhodesia where I've bought a farm and get some of the locals to work it for me for a pittance. I can't wait 'til I go there with my enormous wodge, open the farmhouse door and tell them how great I am. Cheers McKenna.

This book really does work. I've read some of the negative words and all I can say is reading the book alone will not make you confident. Using the techniques and the CD provided with the book makes you confident. The second half of the book is a motivational section which really makes you want to go out and sort out your life, in every area. Buy this book.

I have been following this programme for a few months and it has subtly changed my outlook for the better.

this wont be an immediate fix, but rather the beginning of a journey.

5 out of 5 stars This book is not just for under-confident people   April 12, 2008

Buying this book could be the best few quid you've ever spent. I purchased this out of curiosity really, not thinking I had any lack of confidence. But I now realise there's a lot more to confidence than just dealing with other people easily. Anyway, McKenna does not teach you lots of tricks to project a super-confident image to the world, like all those tedious pick-up artist guides to manipulating others. Instead, the book is a guide to feeling completely comfortable in your own skin and losing any negative habits that get in the way of being the best and most effective person you can be.
I've been really surprised by the effect carrying out the book's exercises and listening to the CD have had. I've no way of knowing whether this will work for everyone, but my experience has been I now feel calmer and more productive. This book has certainly helped me to become more confident to just get on with things in my life. I guess the will to do that was there already, but I would say anyone toying with the idea of making this purchase should give it a go - if it works for you as it has for me, you'll be laughing.
