4 out of 5 stars You wont want to put this down   August 20, 2008
I too had read Getting Rid of Matthew which was a great read, hence my reason for picking this up as soon as it came out. I wasnt disappointed. Read the whole book in one day on my day off - needless to say I didnt get much else done that day! Was a thoroughly enjoyable easy read and I would recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Revenge is sweet   August 18, 2008
Revenge is uppermost in Stephanie's mind when she chances upon the give away text message which reveals James, her husband, is having an affair. She contacts the sender, Katie, who lives with Stephanie's husband James from Sunday to Wednesday of each week in Lincolnshire, whilst Stephanie and Finn, their son, live with him in London from Wednesday to Sunday. Strangely enough the two women become friends and hatch a plot to get James back. The plot is going well and James cannot understand why his life seems to be falling apart. But what happens when one of the women thinks that enough is enough and decides to call a halt? This book is well written with believable characters who are frequently revealed as having feet of clay. An unusual take on the subject of adultery and deception and how it can spill over into all areas of your life. If you want something a bit meatier than the usual run of the mill women's fiction then try this - you won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars Smart, witty, edgy chick-lit   August 10, 2008

Have just finished Got You Back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like the author's previous novel, Getting Rid of Matthew, I thought it was cleverly executed, very funny and an edgier take on the chick lit model.

You won't necessarily like all of the characters, however in a tale about infidelity you wouldn't be expected to, but you will believe them.

The author, Jane Fallon, is Ricky Gervais' long-time partner. However Jane is successful in her own right as a TV producer with several successful TV shows under her belt, and now, two successful novels. I respect that Jane doesn't exploit her connections to the world's most powerful comedian - she doesn't mention him in her bio or acknowledgements. Good on her.

I hear Getting Rid of Matthew is being made into a movie starring Jennifer Anniston. Should be good!!
