5 out of 5 stars A depressive's opinion   September 14, 2007

Brilliant! Bite-sized chunks of helpful information for people with depression or for people who know someone suffering with depression and want to know how to help them. The information is presented clearly and simply in an easy-to-follow format. It isn't stuffy, hard-going or full of technical or medical jargon, just straight-talking facts and advice. It looks at how to recognise the signs of depression, possible causes, strategies for dealing with it, explains medication and alternative treatments and gives advice on preventing relapses. It has helped me enormously, especially the section on cognitive therapy. I have found this book so useful I have bought one for a friend. I'm very grateful to my GP for recommending it to me.
