5 out of 5 stars SMILE FOR YOUR NEXT BOOKCOVER!!!!   July 2, 2007

Let's start off with Mr Leach is not a man to mess with he looks the part and that's just on the cover of the book. You would certainly want him on your side if you where in a spot of bother and not knocking on your front door looking for you. In all this was a very good account of the underworld which you can believe or not it's up to you. I enjoyed this book and it will certainly be staying in my book collection.

Carlton Leach looks the part and sounds the part, he is what he say's he is...HARD!

Whether you read this book and feel that, he led either a somewhat charmed life or stretches the truth a little is for you to decide. To me, this was an easy read about a man who lost close friends whilst living a very perilous lifestyle.

This book is written with real emotion by a man who usually leaves emotion at the front door and although not the longest book in the pile still deserves a place in it.

4 out of 5 stars A decent account   January 6, 2006

I do not agree with the one star review. These books are thoroughly checked, as many people could sue if they were wrong. I am sure that the Gunfight at the OK Coral that is well documented in Western films was far fetched, but that is how it is, the incident still took place, as are the stories within this tomb.

I think it fair to congratulate the author for putting it so well and in a neat package, good on him ... I enjoyed it. The only negative point is the way I saw it and the way it was put across, but I still understood it enough. One read did it for me, how about a follow up? Or is there one already out?

1 out of 5 stars Bit farfetched   July 24, 2005

Im sure some of this book is true, and some of the things such as the Rettendon murders are well documentated but doesnt it seem abit too far fetched in places to be the truth?

Fair play to Carlton for opening up to the experiences,of a man living life on the edge, and this without doubt is the most down to earth account of life on the inside of the london/essex gangland feuds.
This book is a rollercoaster ride of life in the fast lane, the biggest firms, the top doorman, the real story which grabs you by the nuts,as soon as you read the first paragraph.
I couldn't put it down.
