It's a really great book, and covers everything you need to know. Essential for anyone thinking of applying, but remember, the medical schools know that everyone has this book; they will change their interviews etc in places. A MUST HAVE!!!

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing...   July 21, 2001

Ironically, I read this book *after* being admitted to the Medical School of my choice. And the author stated bluntly that what I had said in my interviews was exactly the opposite of what should be said. Hmmmm...

On the up side, it does state the obvious about not answering the "why do you want to be a Doctor?" question with a "because I want to help people" response It also provides a lot of useful advice on University's procedure on second-time round applicants, post-grad applicants etc. It also gives some indication on how an application to Oxbridge is going to differ to other Universities.

All in all, it may be useful to some applicants, but in all honesty I wouldn't waste my student loan...

This is a really helpful book giving practical advice on how to boost your chances of getting into medical school, including great advice on how to fill in your personal statement and how to tackle interview questions. I thoroughly recommend it.

This book tells you all you need to know. It gives you advice from choosing GCSE options to what the interviewers look for. It is by far the best book I've read on the subject, so I'd recommend it to anyone who is considering Medical School.
