1 out of 5 stars Must have read a different book?   July 1, 2008
I found this book the literary equivalent of looking at someone's holiday photos - lots of them. Admittedly I didn't get past Spain, the style and presentation obviously pleases several people, I found it boring and unreadable.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for   June 12, 2008
This book describes one family's trip around Europe and boy what a journey! This book was exactly what I was looking for; I'm still planning our European trip and I feel a little less daunted at the prospect having read their account. There are loads of hints and tips that are going to be useful in preparing for the trip and the historical information is a real appetite wetter. There's the unexpected bonus of a website link giving even more information and some stunning location photographs.

5 out of 5 stars A fantastic read!   June 1, 2008

I bought this book to read whilst I planned and prepared for my own extended travels around Europe in a motorhome. It is a great read, fabulously descriptive without being overbearing. It has been very helpful in my plans and I would recommend it to anyone who loves travel and the experiences it brings, whether you are planning a trip like this yourselves or just fantasising about one.

3 out of 5 stars Proof-reading?   May 10, 2008
Enjoyed this book; an easy, interesting read of a family's adventures around Europe; but the punctuation errors and spelling mistakes detracted from my enjoyment immensely.

3 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read but not quite what I was looking for   January 15, 2008

My wife and I are planning a 3 month trip to France, Spain, and Portugal in the summer, so I was looking for more travel advice and hints and tips. The book is very readable, and funny in parts. I would have liked more maps for the individual areas, as I found it hard to relate the different parts of the book to particular areas. It was a worthwhile read though, and convinced me that when we do our trip (in a smaller motorhome), we will definitely attempt to write it up as a guide to others and try and get it published. I would have liked more detail on typical costs and budgets vs actual spend. I suspect we will be on a tighter budget than the authors and will also have a standard poodle in tow.
