My grandchildren have loved this book since they were 2 & 3 and loved to join in. It gave us endless fun and entertainment.

I absolutely love reading this book with my son. It's a book full of fun and one that I will never tire of reading - even for the hundreth time! It is one of those books that every child should have.

5 out of 5 stars Take a deep breath..   February 16, 2008

.. my son is just three and loves this book to bits. The artwork is great but the fast paced rhyming narrative really makes this something special. I have to read this faster and faster each time and it's great fun (if a little exhausting). Like all good kids books the story is simple but with lots to look at and talk about, and I must confess that I like to do the voices. You'll be booming "witches and chips" before you know it.

And whooosh.. they were gone.

5 out of 5 stars simply fantastic   February 7, 2008

The whole family loves to read this book. The story, the pictures, the repetative whoosh they were gone and the happy ending makes it a great fun to both read and listen to. I can see it getting better and better as we explain about the different landscape pictures and the spell and the new broom as my daughter gets older.

5 out of 5 stars My children have made me read this book hundreds of times   January 31, 2008

Literally hundreds of times. They never tire of it, they shout along with the wooshes and the ziggedy zaggedy zooms, and the 'Down said the witch' chorus - my husband and I have developed our own witchey and dragoney voices - mine is more like Margaret Rutherford and Arfur Mullard, and his is more Pam Ayres meets the Hulk... do we never tire of this book?.. well perhaps, every now and then, but only when they have been kicking off and I just want them asleep - but this is no fault of this deliciously funny and beautifully illustrated masterpiece. Our copy is a little battered and worse for wear, but still in one piece and sturdy as ever. I would buy a replacement in an instant if ever we lost it... nuff said!
