Moons Nodes and Virgo connection March 16, 2001 2 out of 18 found this review helpful
I've not read the book "yet" but have read the comments. Schulman's Node book is referenced several times. I read this years ago and was not impressed. Useful, yes! but not satisfactory to my mind. Other books speak about the Nodes too. According to Esoteric Astrology (AAB/DB) the Moons Nodes are not considered relevant. I myself see them as further "details" expanding upon the Moon-Virgo relationship. The Moon is the esoteric ruler of Virgo, veiling another planet/s. The front cover of this book is very revealing. Virgo and the Moon govern horizons, skylines, edges between black and white contrasts for definite separation, and of course the Moon is shown in an evening sky, and also a field. Thus the book introduces the Moons Nodes with Virgoan imagery. I shall likely obtain a copy and read it. These are simply my impressions gleaned from the cover and the comments. I too am an astrologer of 20 years.
Astonishingly accurate book November 12, 2000 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is one of a huge number of astrology books I have read over the last twenty or so years. I found it to be full of useful insights and written in a reader-friendly way. There is no astro-waffle here! Basically it tells it like it is even if that can be a little difficult to admit to at times. This is a book in the best tradition of self-help but astrologically speaking. When you are reading about your own little foibles you have to be open and honest yet Jan Spiller does not set you up to knock you down. Her comments are given in a truthful and empathic way. A fascinating read.
A great disappointment. October 5, 2000 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have just purchased this book, and I am very disappointed with it. It is a thick book, but it it is all froth and little substance. I bought Martin Schulman's book 'The Moons Nodes & Reincarnation' some time ago, and wanted Jan Spillers book to compare; there is, however, no comparison. Schulmans book is both concise and well-written, whereas Spiller writes a lot without saying a great deal.
Discover the spiritual key that unlocks your life August 17, 1999 The value of this book is incalculable! I have found it enormously helpful in understanding myself and others...in my work and in my personal life. If this is the only book one has in one's astrology library, it's just about the best. - Laurel Duran, author/massage therapist/teacher of self-healing
Too close for comfort, for some. July 23, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have studied and practised astrology for over 20 years, and continue to study and critically evaluate the current literature. Jan Spiller's book is a seminal work. It accurately establishs the life purpose for each nodal position with astonishing clarity and depth. Her tone is clear and uncompromising, yet gentle. I winced at some of it, but recognised where I and others have been, how far we have progressed, and what has yet to be overcome. And she encourages that overcoming. While she does not spare our sensibilities, this is genuinely useful information. The most crucial astrological text this decade - read it and wonder at her angelic genius.
